Sep 18, 2020 · I like the 2 inch Kimber best of all. It's closer to the size of an SP-101 than it is teh GP-100 mf yrj 3 inch is a little less bulky and chunky than the GP-100. I used to have a 2 3/4" Ruger speed six that was smaller than the GP-100 an only sightly larger than the SP 101 but held one more round.
At 37 ounces, it's not quite a 35.5-ounce Security-Six, but it's not quite a normal 39.5-ounce GP100 either. The result is less weight than the current adjustable-sighted GP100, with better sights than the lighter 36-ounce fixed-sight GP. My thanks and appreciation to C&S, Hamilton Bowen, and Ruger for all their help.

But I always liked and respected the GP100s. I finally bought a new GP100 4" about a year ago. Other than a slight creep to the SA trigger and a few milling marks where it isn't critical such as the recoil shield, the GP is every bit the revolver as my old 686-1. And with shooting the GP100's trigger is getting better.

Nov 13, 2015 · As heavy as GP100s are, I'd suffer the extra few ounces and get the 4" model with adjustable sights. Unless you're real serious about carry under a jacket or something, then I'd get the low snag fixed sight 3" version. And put on a smaller grip, and bob the hammer spur . . .

It does appear that the Super Redhawk hammer is a functional replacement part for the Super GP100—it functions correctly in single and double action, pushes the firing pin forward when the transfer bar is in place, and doesn't interact with the firing pin when it isn't.
